I am extremely active in my community, attempting to be a voice for those who dont have one, giving all I have to make sure that no one is left to suffer alone in this rat-race world we live in. I am a proud volunteer wherever I'm needed. I have worked at food drives, volunteered for event setups at churches and mosques, and worked at sporting events where the number of workers was scarce. Each time I volunteered wasn't for the boost of my resume or brag sheet, it was for the good of the community. I worked and still work as hard as I do because I wanted those around me to have the same or better opportunities than I had, and not be crippled by a lack of food, a lack of staff, or a lack of care. I come from a low-income family where money wasn't always there when I needed it. Even now, I need money to pay off college, most likely for all 4 years. However, despite not having a lot of funds I always had support. I wanted to give that same support to others who were like me, those who may not know when their next meal will be, those who have had the same pairs of shoes for 2 years because they dont have enough money for new ones, those who more than the average person wishes that they were rich. I have a passion for music and performing, during my high school journey I learned the ins and outs of music. But the most important thing I learned from it, was the impact and influence that music had. I used music to advocate against bullying of all kinds, having concerts and pop-up performances where I sing and dance, all in the hopes of bringing more awareness to the difficult topic of bullying and cyberbullying. I performed at festivals, churches, and even the Strathmore mansion, all in the fight against bullying. The most difficult part about it is that it can happen to anyone, my sister was a victim of cyberbullying, and I performed for her and all the other victims who had no way to fight back. I performed as an ally demanding change so that kids like me didn't have to be afraid to hear another notification go off on their phones. I put myself in their shoes, relating through a universal language that we all spoke. And for those who didn't connect through music the way that I did, I acted in PSAs for YourLifeYourVoice.org, expanding my reach, doing everything possible to let those who suffered from bullying and cyberbullying know that I will do everything in my power to lift their voices until their cries are heard.
