You Glow Differently When You're Happy Scholarship
The day my little brother was born. I was the only child for 10 years of my life and I had always wanted a sibling. I remember stepping into the room where my mother delivered my baby brother. So excited to see him. My grandma lifted me up to a seat that was next to her and there he was so precious and small. The feeling was so heartwarming seeing a tiny human that I can share memories with forever.
      Pandemic's Box Scholarship
Honestly, even though the pandemic has brought lots of tears, struggles and sudden unfortunate events occurs in my life. The pandemic forced me to adapt to a life that just seemed so unreal. Everything happened so fast that I don't think anyone had time to really grasp what was happening to ourselves, our community, and the world. But throughout all of the chaos, the pandemic has shown me that no matter what comes my way I continue to remain strong and keep my head up especially when it matters the most. When the pandemic first hit the U.S I was a senior in high school and it was so tough to adapt to online learning and keep my grades above 3.0 GPA, on top of applying to colleges. But because of the pandemic, I was able to also focus on myself and help me realize how strong and independent I was because I was learning new things all on my own. The pandemic helped me with my personal growth and realize that I have to be so appreciative of the people I have around me.

Art is a form of expressing a story without words. Everyone interprets art in a different way and I love how there is never any right or wrong way of making art. As a child, I was always considered the quiet one whether it's in my family or friend group I have always just been the one to not talk so much. But even though I was the quiet one I would always express the way I am feeling through art. I love making art for myself but honestly, I love making art for others as well. Helping their story, their vision come to life. The following attachments include multiple pieces of art that I have made for myself and other people whom they ask for me to paint for them. I wish to continue this journey with my artistic skills to improve and continue to make others happy with the art that I make for them.

My first job was working in fast food. I worked to help myself with school and also to help my family with bills and help around the house with whatever they needed while still studying in college. While working at my first job it was pretty tough I was able to learn quickly and I helped out a lot with filling in extra hours because they were very much understaffed at the location that I worked at. One day it was only three people working at the fast-food place that I worked at there were multiple customers there waiting for their food. While trying to maintain the drive-thru and help out a new coworker with the people inside of the fast-food restaurant customers were getting impatient and angry for the long wait even though there were only three people including myself trying to work as fast and as efficient as we can. I began to feel stressed out with all the eyes on me and I felt the tension of the customers' frustration all laying on me. As my chest started to feel heavier and heavier I went to the back of the restaurant and told myself to call down, making sure that I was okay first mentally and to remain calm. I went back to the front of the restaurant and made sure to apologize to the customers about the wait and just kept moving forward. This was the day that I just wanted to leave and quit on the stop but I didn't. I could have, but I remained calm and gave myself a mental break for just a minute, and because of that I am still proud of myself to this day regardless of the chaos.
