I have had a learning disability for as long as I can remember. I thought I was just a normal child but I wasn't. When I was three years old it was found out that I had Autism. Because of my Autism, it makes it harder for me to learn just like any other learning disorder. I was on a very healthy diet for a while because of my Autism. I was eating all organic food and because of that, it could have gone away. I have not let my Autism stop me from learning or making me feel less like a normal child. I think of this as having a different ability. I have been getting a lot of help in school because of my Autism and it helps me a lot. I ask my dad for help if I need it or I will ask my teachers. If I didn't do any of this I would not gotten to where I am now. I also have a hard time taking tests and quizzes because of it. On the bright side as a student, I have always been on Honor Roll in high school because I am dedicated. I have had a hard time socializing with people as well. Including getting along with my siblings and trying to make friends. The hardest time to make friends for me was my freshman year because I did not know anyone. A few years later though I have become more open and I have a lot of friends now since I can talk to new people now and make them feel good. I am doing fine in school but I also do extra things. I do campus life at Juan Diego Catholic High School and that really helped me to be able to open up and talk to new people because there will be activities I have to work on with others and I need to be open about the ideas. I also do cross country running and that also helped me open up to others because I have had to deal with running in bad weather, practicing after school each day, and making sure I am ready to do well at meets and support my teammates. If one of my teammates does not feel comfortable I try to be open to them and make them feel better so they can have more confidence in themselves. I still want to pursue a higher education because I have always loved to learn and I want to have a good job in the future I think going to college can lead me to having a good life and a job that I will like. I have never wanted to stop learning. I believe I have a good future ahead of me and would like to see where it takes me as long I put effort into it. My parents also believe that I am a hard worker if I was not a hard worker throughout my school years I would have never gotten threw my first 3 high school years but I know I can finish the last half of my senior year of high school and keep up my hard work for college because it is holy going to get more challenging.
