As a future neuroscientist/neurosurgeon, I am driven by a profound commitment to revolutionize the medical field. My ultimate goal is to enhance access to advanced medical care and procedures in underserved regions. However, pursuing this dream requires attending a reputable college, which unfortunately presents a financial challenge for my family and me. Barbie is one of my ultimate inspirations. I know it’s weird to hear that from a senior in high school, but it's true. She is truly someone who constantly strives to be the best and is one of the only people I know capable of having more than 300 jobs successfully. She is truly the definition that anything is possible.
Barbie even made me believe in my own capability of achieving multiple great feats. I have a multifaceted aspiration. My first goal is to be on the top of the Neurosurgery field. Being a neurosurgeon requires delicacies and complexities that deeply appeal to me. Additionally, I would love to be the person people can rely on with things like high-risk surgeries and life-changing discoveries. However, much like Barbie I have more than one passion. And while they both focus on the same thing via being good for the world, they are different in nature.
The other face of my aspiration is to open my own chain of non profit hospitals in underdeveloped regions around the world. In order to do this I know that I will have to work hard. However, that has never and will never deter me from my plans. I have experienced firsthand what being left without access to medicine can do to a person and I wouldn’t wish it upon anyone. So with a hand on my heart, I earnestly claim to fix this problem.
One of the first steps I took towards my goals was taking an early start to medicine through my pre-med class. I was able to job shadow doctors, learn medical terminology and integrate several foundational emergency skills into my skill set. I am even now interning at neurological units of hospitals and learning phlebotomist skills in preparation for the medical field. I have also joined several research labs in preparation for the professional research I will pursue later. I have gained tremendous experience in all things neuroscience and will continue until I become the best in the field.
But my dream to become a revolutionary in underdeveloped regions hasn’t gone unexplored either. I have founded a nonprofit called It Starts At Home, which plans to equip individuals with essential skills to handle preventable medical issues.I started this project because of the immense medical gap that I have seen in these countries. I know for sure that this project will teach me immeasurable lessons and equip me with the skills to another great accomplishment.
Anything is Possible.
