Hi my name is Aaron, I currently live in Durango Colorado, a place know for every outdoor activity ever known, and the most beautiful mountains that surround the town. My most memorable outdoor experience was when I went snowboarding with a group of friends for the very first time. I remember it was a powder day and it was still snowing. It was a weekend and it was full of people. I had no experience of snowboarding or skateboarding or skiing, I was completely new to this. We went to a place called Purgatory in Durango Colorado, I lave about an hour away and Ive always heard about it but have never gone. When I rented out everything I was so excited and ready everyone I knew snowboarded or skied and I was just dying to try. When we got there I remember seeing the place and the tall mountain, and I knew this was going to be great. Ive always lived surrounded by mountains but being this close to one was unreal. Gong down the bunny hill, where everyone learns was the hardest thing I have ever done in my live, I remember struggling so much, I kept catching my edge and getting up felt harder every time. However, It was the best decision of my entire life, after a couple of times going upo and how the bunny hill my friends forced me to go all in and to the top of the mountain. It was not the best decision but it was fun, it took me four hours to get down, catching my edge every time I got up and falling on my butt every time. I might have broken my tail bone after that, but it was fun and to this day I still remember that day and how it fun it was. I am extremely grateful to be living in an area where going outdoors is so popular and easy available, not only is it fun but immensely beneficial to my mental and physical health. Ever since I remember I would be outdoors in my back yard making mud pies or just running around with friends playing some made up game we created on the spot. With this great opportunity I try to live my life outdoors and to the fullest, and it is an extreme pleasure and opportunity to have experienced and continue to be exploring the world. To this day I continue to snowboard and I love it ever since time, and I continue to learn new things every time. Whoever I meet I try to share how amazing it is to be outside. I have a younger brother about 8 years younger than I am, and every opportunity I can I try to take him outside and just enjoy what's out there, he loves to go camping and mountain biking, I hope that in the future he'll still be able to go outside and explore the mountains, the forest, and everything around him.
