Yifan Zhu "Late Night" Scholarship
So much of what makes college special takes place outside of the classroom — meals out with friends, attending a local show, heading to a competition with your sports team, spending breaks with friends in a new country, and more.
These pursuits outside of the classroom not only created my fondest memories and most impactful experiences, but they have also served me well in my career.
Unfortunately, while many college students get their tuition covered by need-based scholarships, that aid typically does not extend to cover activities outside the classroom. That means many low-income students miss out on some of the best parts of college.
This scholarship is my small way of giving back to the next generation of students in the hopes that they can live the entire college experience to its fullest.
It will be awarded to a low-income college student who has a track record of social engagement through their extracurricular activities (e.g. student council, community service, dance/sports, etc.).
While not required, first-generation applicants will be preferred.
How are your experiences outside of the classroom contributing to your college experience, your skills, and your career goals?

If the award is for a qualified educational non-tuition expense, we will work with the winner directly to distribute the award and make sure it goes towards qualified expenses.
