Valentine Scholarship
Creating positive change in the world requires the next generation of students to push the envelope by continuing their educational journey.
Unfortunately, the high costs of a college education stand in the way of many students who want to pursue their academic and professional dreams but can’t afford to do so. The growing inaccessibility of higher education affects not only prospective students but also their communities, who miss out on the benefits of their careers.
This scholarship seeks to support students in Texas who are preparing to make the leap from high school to college.
Any high school student in Texas may apply for this scholarship if they enjoy helping others, but those in Royse City School District will be preferred.
To apply, tell us how you can help your community, your experience volunteering or helping others, what your service background has taught you, and how other people can help their communities.
What are some ways you can help members of your community? Tell us about a time when you helped someone or volunteered. What did you learn from that experience? What are some other ways people can help or volunteer to help their community?

We will work with donors to review all applications according to the scholarship criteria. Winners will be chosen based on the merit of their application.
Award checks will be sent to the financial aid office of the winner's academic institution or future academic institution in their name to be applied to their tuition, and in the name of their institution (depending on the school's requirements). If the award is for a qualified educational non-tuition expense, we will work with the winner directly to distribute the award and make sure it goes towards qualified expenses.
Before we award the scholarship, the winner will be required to confirm their academic enrollment status. Depending on the circumstances, verification of Student ID and/or their most recent transcript will be required.
