Eligibility Requirements
Education Level:
High school, undergraduate, or trade school student
Field of Study:
Pursuing a trade program (HVAC, electrician, roofing, welding, general contractor, cosmetology, etc.)

There is a growing need for more workers in the trades, as they are vital fields that are facing shortages.

As fields evolve, becoming a trade specialist requires additional training and schooling, which often comes at a high cost. The expense imposed by college or certification programs can deter students from lower-income families from pursuing their academic and professional goals.

This scholarship aims to support the next generation of trade specialists by reducing the financial barrier posed by education.

Any high school, undergraduate, or trade school student who will be pursuing a trade program, including HVAC, roofing, welding, cosmetology, etc., may apply for this scholarship.

Winning Application

Hannah Dorsey
Clary Sage CollegeCLAREMORE, OK
I am an 18-year-old trade school student pursuing a degree in Esthetician. I graduated from Claremore High School in 2023 and got All-State for Volleyball. I won many awards during my senior year and made excellent progress. I also won Student of the Month and MVP. My motivation is my success and my future. To me, you should always shoot to be the best version of yourself. I motivate myself every day to go the extra step whether that be making my bed every morning, or not skipping class for fun. I want a solid and stable career for my future life and kids. My motivation is to be successful and prove that a line of ancestry has nothing to do with your outcome in life. Getting into the routine, a good schedule that fits my lifestyle, and the best adventures there will be is so exciting and makes me beyond excited to start this career! I want to give my clients the confidence and boost they deserve. Two ways you can show that you are accountable at work is by showing up to work and taking responsibility. Showing up to work on time, efficiently, and professionally are the 3 things I first taught myself. The way you portray yourself in a work environment not only reflects on you, but also reflects on your job. Being efficient shows how hard driven and compassionate you are to be helping another citizen accomplish their dream. Time is a tricky thing, and it often catches people in a hole. Time management is very important when you sign up to give x amount of hours a week of yourself to an industry or business. My future career plan is to have a shop of my own. I want to feel at ease when starting my services and confidence. I am not sure if I want a shop that I rent out to other Estheticians or if I want to just have a single-room shop that I am only out of. I like the single-room shop better that way I can have my vibe throughout my whole career. I would like to donate some of my time to a Women’s Abuse Shelter or the young moms who are currently homeless. I would also like to provide a discount of service to First Responders to acknowledge their work and bravery. I want my clients to feel a sense of peace when walking into my shop. I want a good atmosphere and positive vibes throughout their service.
