She Rose in Health Scholarship
Only 5% of physicians identify as Black or African-American, despite making up 13% of the population in the United States.
In healthcare professions, diversity is still lacking. It is important to empower minority students to pursue their passions and make a difference in their chosen profession. Because representation is still sorely lacking in the healthcare field, there needs to be more opportunities available to minorities. The She Rose in Health Scholarship seeks to give female African-American students an opportunity, allowing them to further pursue their higher education.
Female undergraduate or graduate students are eligible to apply if they are African-American, have a GPA of 3.0 and are earning a degree in a health related profession, such as nursing, public health, pre-medicine, nutrition, etc. To apply, write about why you chose your degree, how you will use your education to make a difference, and how this scholarship will help you achieve your goals.
Why did you choose your degree, how do you plan to make a positive impact through your degree, and how will this scholarship help you towards your goals?
