Shahjahan Begum Memorial Scholarship
Shahjahan Begum was a beloved mother who never got the chance to go to school yet strongly advocated for women's rights to have careers.
While great strides have been made towards gender equality and women's empowerment, many legal and societal roadblocks affect young women and girls as they pursue their education. From unsupportive family or friends to male-dominated clubs or classes to harassment in the workplace, women face many struggles when pursuing their dreams.
This scholarship honors Shahjahan Begum's life by supporting women pursuing degrees and successful careers.
Any female undergraduate, graduate, or trade school student who is a first—or second-generation immigrant from Pakistan may apply for this scholarship. Students with at least a 3.0 GPA are preferred.
