Olivia Vada Camacho Scholarship
The high costs of college have proven difficult for many students to cover, but low-income students are placed at a particular disadvantage in higher education due to their financial status.
A lack of resources can make it difficult or impossible for low-income students to afford college and limited finances can also make it difficult to pay for standardized tests, extracurricular expenses, and costs for other activities that help students gain college acceptances. As a result, less than 30% of students in the bottom 25% of income attend a four-year college, and more than half of those who do enroll don’t end up graduating.
This scholarship aims to honor the life of Olivia Vada Camacho by supporting low-income students who are seeking higher education.
Any low-income high school student may apply for this scholarship opportunity.
