Moriah Janae Dance Grant
Fine arts programs significantly add to the process of learning. As students develop their creative minds, these programs allow students to discover who they are and what they are passionate about.
One of the arts that I am most passionate about is dance. Dance promotes creativity, improves the way in which people see themselves, allows people to express themselves emotionally, promotes diversity and exposes people to other cultures.
With this in mind, I created this $500 grant to help one dancer follow their passion for dance. The ideal applicant will not only be a disciplined, passionate, aspiring dancer, but also a disciplined high school student who has excellent behavior and performs well academically with a B average or higher. This student also must be recommended by their dance instructor or an academic instructor, counselor, or principal if they are not currently enrolled in a dance class. Underrepresented minorities in dance will be highly considered, although it is not required to be a minority in order to apply.
This grant will be used specifically to pay for the cost of pursuing further skills in the world of dance, such as for tuition at a dance studio.
Please briefly describe your dance experience (if applicable) and share why you are passionate about the art of dance, how it has positively impacted your life, and what your future aspirations are as they relate to dance.
