Michael Fred Smith Grzech Memorial Scholarship
Michael Fred Smith Grzech was a beloved son, brother, friend, and student who tragically passed away on January 13, 2023 at the young age of 13. He was tremendously kind to others and was dearly loved by all who knew him.
Michel had many interests and things he enjoyed doing, such as being in the Math Club and the Banana Club, reading books, playing chess, stating random facts, learning about mythology, and making bets. He had a unique personality and style all his own, wearing colorful hats in school and carrying a Spongebob bookbag. He had fun writing quirky fiction with his classmates in school and loved playing video games and going to arcades. Mostly though, Michael enjoyed spending time with his siblings and family. Everyone was drawn to Michael for the happiness and light he shared.
Because he loved learning new things, Michael excelled in every subject in school. He was blessed with a great musical talent and loved listening to many genres, especially classical and old school music.
The Michael Fred Smith Grzech Scholarship will continue his legacy, honoring Michael’s memory by supporting like-minded students who not only share his great love for music but who also plan on having a career in the field.
The Michael Fred Smith Grzech scholarship is open to any high school student in Florida who is dedicated, ambitious, and musically gifted.
If you would like to apply, tell us about your musical talent and explain what it would give to the world, or how it would change it for the better, in 500-800 words.
What would your music and musical talent give to the world, and how would it change it for the better?
