Mental Health Matters Scholarship
There has been increased awareness about mental health over the past several years, but stigmas still persist surrounding mental illness.
Some people have an image in their mind of how they think someone with mental health challenges acts or presents themselves to their community, not realizing that struggling with mental health and being a leader in your community aren’t mutually exclusive. Mental health is unique from other physical illnesses or disabilities because it can’t always be seen - it’s an internal battle. The Mental Health Matters Scholarship exists to support students who struggle with mental health but are still active members of their communities. This scholarship will help disband stigmas by celebrating students who demonstrate leadership skills despite their internal challenges.
Students of any educational level are eligible to apply if they have a GPA of 2.5 or higher, struggle with mental health challenges, and have proven themselves to be leaders in their communities. To apply, write about how you have been a leader in your community.
How have you been an active leader in your community?
