Lucille Hobbs Education Scholarship
Lucille began her teaching career as a kindergarten teacher and later became the principal of an elementary school near the city she lived in. The impact and reach she had with her students and those that worked with her was powerful.
In addition to her impact on the school district, Lucille was a dedicated grandmother, always inspiring her grandchildren to be good people and get an education. She didn’t care what it was in, just as long as they were passionate about it.
The Lucille Hobbs Education Scholarship will award a first generation college student who possesses spirit, determination, excellence, and a strong sense of commitment. Underrepresented minorities in their senior year of high school or in a 4-year undergraduate school can apply if they are first-generation college students. While not required, preference will be given to students majoring in education.
To apply, write about how you plan to make an impact on the world and what you want to be remembered for.
