Linda Kay Monroe Whelan Memorial Education Scholarship
Giving back to the community helps students understand important values and skills that can help them succeed in the real world and become good people.
It’s important to celebrate and encourage these skills and efforts, supporting students as they improve their communities and their character. The Linda Kay Monroe Whelan Memorial Education Scholarship will support a student in California who volunteers in their community.
This scholarship memorializes Linda Kay Monroe Whelan who was a dedicated public servant, both through her lifelong career as a teacher and in her free time through her volunteer activities. Linda was a resident of Riverside, CA and was passionate about her community and making it a better place every day.
High school seniors in California are eligible to apply if they are from a low-income background, have volunteer experience and are planning to pursue a college education after high school. To apply, write about how giving back within your community has shaped your life and about what your educational goals are.
