Kenny Tan Test Prep Scholarship
The admissions system for NYC's top public high schools is a controversial issue that has attracted many ad hominem attacks, argumentum ad populum, and other logical fallacies.
As one small part of promoting more thoughtful discussion around the admission system for NYC's top public schools, the Kenny Tan Test Prep Scholarship will support a high school student who uses facts and reason to discuss the current system in ways that move the conversation forward.
The scholarship is open to all New York City Public School students who are currently in high school.
To apply for the scholarship, please submit a link to a video in which you quickly introduce yourself and answer the questions: Should the SHSAT remain the sole criteria for NYC's specialized high schools? Why or why not?
Applicants will be evaluated based on how well they can articulate an argument grounded in facts and supported by reasoned analysis.
