Everyone deserves the opportunity to have access to a high-quality education, but unfortunately, money is a limiting factor for many students.

Even though financial aid is awarded to 86% of first-year, full-time students, many students still need to take out loans to pay for their education. And after graduating, these individuals often struggle to pay off these loans, which can come with high interest rates.

As one small part of working on this important problem, The Justricia Scholarship for Education exists to help make education more accessible to all people.

Because everyone deserves the opportunity to find and pursue fields that they're passionate about, the scholarship is open to students of all ages and fields of study.

To apply, you must write about what role education has in your life.

“Make sure you take advantage of the opportunities you’ve been given.” These are words that have constantly been uttered out of my parent’s mouth since the day I immigrated to America. Being the first in my family to have a chance at studying in America, education has played a big role in my life. In my household, it’s said that the key to success is my education. Coming to America and being given the chance to pursue my education here meant that I was in charge of my own future. My parents provided me the opportunity of seeking a brighter time ahead and it’s always been my responsibility to ensure that success by working hard. Ever since I was a little girl, my biggest dreams have always been to hold a professional job, living a comfortable life and providing for my family. With this in mind, I always knew I needed to work hard and study to achieve this goal of mine. Growing up, my needs were provided but most things people my age had, I could not acquire. In school my friends would bring their latest gadgets and toys while I watched over their shoulders trying to hide my jealousy. I was in 4th grade and most of my friends had the latest Iphone while I tried to hide my cheap MetroPCS phone. Unlike my peers, my parents held minimum wage jobs making it difficult for them to afford things beyond the necessities. Being a child of immigrants, my parents weren’t able to attend school in America; hence, their job opportunities were limited so our financial capacity was limited while growing up. It has always been my parents and my dream to be well educated so my opportunities would not be limited, unlike theirs. Being able to go to school in America served as an opportunity to expand my horizons and widen my opportunities to be a fulfillment of my parent’s American dream.
