The Hilda Ann Stahl Memorial Scholarship is dedicated to honoring the legacy of Hilda Stahl, a prolific Christian author known for her impactful literary contributions.
Hilda Stahl was not only a dedicated wife and mother of seven children, but she was also a prolific Christian writer whose works resonated deeply with readers worldwide. Stahl published more than 100 books and 200 short stories, many of which were translated into dozens of languages. Her writings were characterized by an unwavering commitment to spreading the message of God’s great love. Her literary endeavors touched the hearts and minds of countless individuals, inspiring them to live with hope and purpose.
In addition to her writing, Stahl taught thousands of budding authors through the Institute of Children’s Literature, where she herself attended as a young, aspiring talent. She was passionate about literacy, quality storytelling and helping young authors succeed.
The scholarship named in her honor seeks to recognize and support students who share Stahl's passion for writing and storytelling. Recipients of this scholarship are chosen based on their academic excellence, writing abilities, and dedication to exploring and expressing Christian themes and values through their
work.
This scholarship aims to support aspiring Christian writers who dream of making a difference in the lives of their readers.
Any full-time undergraduate student who is Christian and pursuing a degree in English, communications, or creative writing may apply for this scholarship opportunity.

The winner will be publicly announced on Aug 31, 2024. Prior to the announcement date, we may contact finalists with additional questions about their application. We will work with donors to review all applications according to the scholarship criteria. Winners will be chosen based on the merit of their application.
Award checks will be sent to the financial aid office of the winner's academic institution in their name to be applied to their tuition, and in the name of their institution (depending on the school's requirements). If the award is for a qualified educational non-tuition expense, we will work with the winner directly to distribute the award and make sure it goes towards qualified expenses.
Before we award the scholarship, the winner will be required to confirm their academic enrollment status. Depending on the circumstances, verification of Student ID and/or their most recent transcript will be required.
