Mens sana in corpore sano - a healthy mind in a healthy body.

Simultaneously excelling both academically and athletically is no easy task. Between the training and competition schedules required for athletics and all of the homework, studying, and other responsibilities of college, student-athletes have their hands full.

This scholarship aims to support students who are competing in triathlons, running, or cycling while pursuing their undergraduate or graduate degree, preferably in STEM.

Any student participating in competitions for cycling, running, or triathlon while attending undergraduate or graduate school may apply, but STEM students are preferred. Students must be committed to their college duties, such as extracurriculars, research, and maintaining their grades.

To apply, submit 1-3 images of you participating in a competition or standing on the pedestal. Then, write a short essay telling us what type of competition or race the image is from and what your experience during that competition was like.

Whiskeytown Off-Road Duathlon - First place overall time for Women! My first duathlon! Though I have raced many semi-pro mountain bike races, I have never competed in cross country. Running is not my strongest asset. I pushed myself out of my comfort zone and focused on maximizing my strength in mountain biking to compete against the reigning female champion. Ran 3 miles, biked 7 miles, then ran 3 miles again! I received an award as First place overall time for Women! Hosted by SWEAT running club to promote health and fitness in Northern California.
