DK Memorial Sports Broadcasting Scholarship
David (DK) Kim was one of a kind! He had such a passion for life and sports. He made everyone feel like they were family. People could feel the warmth he radiated, even if it was their first time meeting him.
He affected so many people positively, and there are no words to convey how amazing he truly was. On November 1st, 2021, the Davis, CA community suddenly lost a dear friend, David (DK) Kim, due to complications from a heart condition. DK was a staple to the Davis community; he was a member of Woodstock’s Pizza Davis family for nearly 20 years, a UC Davis graduate with a degree in English, and a proud Sammie (Sigma Alpha Mu).
DK poured his soul into UC Davis athletics, broadcasting and supporting various sporting events such as football, basketball, softball, women’s lacrosse, and more. Additionally, he worked on a sports radio show at KDVS and co-hosted on KDRT.
The community that loved DK aims to honor DK by supporting undergraduate and graduate students pursuing Sports Broadcasting or Sports Journalism.
Any undergraduate or graduate students studying Sports Broadcasting or Sports Journalism with a financial need may apply.
