Courage/Yongqi Scholarship
Citizenship status can be an incredible burden that immigrant students encounter on their path to their educational dreams.
No matter how talented, diligent, and determined a student is, immigration status can hold them back from professional, educational, and personal opportunities. Many students who don’t have U.S. citizenship aren’t eligible for financial aid, making it very difficult to afford the rising costs of college.
This scholarship aims to support students who aren’t U.S. citizens and need financial assistance to afford higher education.
Any Asian high school, undergraduate, or graduate student and isn’t a U.S. citizen may apply for this scholarship opportunity.
To apply, tell us about your educational background, the challenges you have faced while pursuing your education, what you want to achieve in your future, and if you've received any kind of help from others.
Please tell us about your educational journey so far, your dreams, the challenges, the moments you almost gave up but you didn't. What are the values you see in yourself in this difficult journey from a disadvantaged or marginalized community? What is it like to ask for help and receive help?

We will work with donors to review all applications according to the scholarship criteria. Winners will be chosen based on the merit of their application.
Award checks will be sent to the financial aid office of the winner's academic institution or future academic institution in their name to be applied to their tuition, and in the name of their institution (depending on the school's requirements). If the award is for a qualified educational non-tuition expense, we will work with the winner directly to distribute the award and make sure it goes towards qualified expenses.
Before we award the scholarship, the winner will be required to confirm their academic enrollment status. Depending on the circumstances, verification of Student ID and/or their most recent transcript will be required.
