Community Service is Key Scholarship
Historic orator Booker T. Washington once said that “those who are happiest are those who do the most for others.”
Giving back to the community is one of the most important things students can do to learn about themselves and what is important in life. Selfless community service helps develop character and brings joy to those giving the service as well as those receiving it.
The Community Service is Key Scholarship seeks to award one student who has engaged in community service and given back to their community. Students of any education level with experience serving their community are encouraged to apply.
To apply, write about the experiences you have had with community service, sharing a bit about the organization you served and the takeaways you gained from the experience.
Write about your experience serving your community: What is the name of the organization you served? How many hours did you complete of service? What was your most significant take away from those community service experiences?

We will work with donors to review all applications according to the scholarship criteria. Winners will be chosen based on the merit of their application.
Award checks will be sent to the financial aid office of the winner's academic institution or future academic institution in their name to be applied to their tuition, and in the name of their institution (depending on the school's requirements). If the award is for a qualified educational non-tuition expense, we will work with the winner directly to distribute the award and make sure it goes towards qualified expenses.
Before we award the scholarship, the winner will be required to confirm their academic enrollment status. Depending on the circumstances, verification of Student ID and/or their most recent transcript will be required.
