Alberta Bean Memorial Scholarship
Alberta Bean was a beloved grandmother who worked hard to provide the very best for her kids, making sure they had more than her, despite a difficult childhood and only an eighth-grade education. Alberta moved to St. Louis, Missouri as a teenager after both of her parents passed.
For many students who come from families without college experience, obtaining a higher education degree can feel impossible. Without family funding or encouragement, first-generation students need to have faith in their dreams and demonstrate significant resilience to succeed and complete their education.
This scholarship aims to honor the life of Alberta Bean by supporting students who are the first in their families to pursue college degrees.
Any first-generation high school senior or undergraduate student from the state of Missouri with at least a 3.0 GPA may apply for this scholarship opportunity.
