Ms Susy Ruiz
Ms. Susy Ruiz was raised in Costa Mesa, CA. The focus of her work is to build a culture of achievement that helps first-generation, traditional, and transfer students and families make college a reality. Ms. Ruiz has twelve years of expertise in college counseling, scholarships, and educational background. Over the course of five years, she provided mentoring, tutoring, residential advising, and student personnel advisor services to high school students in the Los Angeles area. Ms.Ruiz is a member of the National Association for College Admissions Counseling (NACAC), Western Association for College Admissions Counseling (WACAC), and Independent Educational Consultants Admissions (IECA).
She’s traveled to 60 colleges across the United States. During her undergraduate studies, she spent every summer working in academic boot camps for first-generation and low-income students at the TRiO University of Southern California (USC). In addition to earning a Bachelor of Arts in Anthropology from USC, Ms. Ruiz also earned a Master of Social Work degree from Arizona State University. In addition to facilitating scholarship and financial aid information, Ms. Susy is passionate about empowering students to access scholarships.
A popular social media platform @MsSusyRuiz was created as a necessity where scholars received free scholarship information and internship tips. Ms. Susy Ruiz moved to Las Vegas in 2013 to support students and families told that college is an impossible dream. As the first person in her family to attend a prestigious university and graduate with a post-secondary degree, she understands students’ obstacles and tribulations. Ms. Ruiz serves as Program Manager for Fulfillment Fund Las Vegas, a college access nonprofit serving students in Title I schools in Las Vegas, NV.
