Our story
Julian Lennon is a Grammy-nominated singer/songwriter, NY Times best-selling author, fine-art photographer, film producer, Explorers Club member, and son of prolific musician John Lennon. He founded The White Feather Foundation charity in 2007 to help preserve Indigenous Cultures. Since then, the organization has expanded to help in the areas of Education, Health, Clean Water and the Environment. As a way of honoring his late mother, Julian created this fund in order to give female artists the chance to pursue higher artistic education. Cynthia Lennon once said, “I loved college. It gave me a sense of independence and freedom I have never experienced before.” This fund will help give future women the chance to have this same experience. Since its inception through the White Feather Foundation, the fund has helped 35 girls across Kenya thrive by providing access to education and learning opportunities. Recipients have graduated to pursue careers in the medical field, journalism, hospitality and education. Some have already become entrepreneurs.
Our goal
To honour Cynthia’s life, educational journey, and accomplishments as an artist by supporting future female artists.
