Our story
Chris innovated collegiate and prep sports programs by providing services that fully leveraged technology to efficiently collect real-time team and athlete statistics. Chris was a major leader at Mosby Memorial Baptist Church, helping the faith community innovate in the areas of sound engineering, video capture and general use of technology to carry out its mission. Chris provided volunteers with opportunities to serve their community while learning new skills. With both StatVA and Mosby Memorial, Chris impacted the lives of many youth and adults by using technology as the vehicle to empower others to learn and lead. This award aims to honor a young innovator who shares Chris Jones' passions with a strong desire to continuously improve their community.
Our goal
The Chris Jones Innovator Award is a $500 scholarship established in Fall 2020 to honor the life and legacy of Chris Jones.
Chris' passion for technology and sports led him to create StatVA, a company that transformed many Virginia and Florida sports communities. This award aims to honor a young innovator who shares Chris' passions with a fervent desire to continuously improve his or her community.
Chris built many networks through StatVA that benefited young athletics, recruiters, and sponsors. We want to extend opportunities to have the Innovator scholarship be supported by all who want to see the legacy of Chris continued through this award.
