Sideline to Success: Empowering Women in Sports Fund

According to the Sports Integrity Global Alliance (SIGA), only a quarter of executive positions in international sports federations are held by women.The lack of women executives in the sports industry is often due to the societal perceptions of sports as a masculine space. When young girls are told sports are not for them, this underrepresentation of women is reinforced as girls who are passionate about athletics may get discouraged. When women make up only a small portion of an industry, it becomes difficult to boost representation as a shortage of mentors and a lack of inclusivity can make the field feel unwelcoming and intimidating. This fund aims to break down the barriers and gender-based stereotypes surrounding women in the sports industry by supporting the next generation of girls as they pursue their dreams.
