Our goal
As a first-generation college and low-income student myself, I understand the unique struggles that students with this background face in pursuing higher education. The lack of college cultural capital, the lack of educational resources, and overall struggle is not an easy obstacle to overcome. I think these issues are especially heightened when a student identifies as BIPOC as well. I've seen how higher education seems out of reach for many individuals in my Latine community. I want to start this fund to increase Latin American representation in higher education. I'd want it to be only open to first-generation and low-income Latine high school students because this is a demographic I feel is heavily underrepresented. Though I am still a student myself, I want to be able to give back financially in some form.

I am happy to support bringing the brilliance and talent of our first gen students to higher ed institutions. We must continue to represent. Education is a right not a privilege! Kudos to you David for starting this!! Adelante!
