Our goal

On July 31, 2022, a tragic event occurred when Nickolas Roy and Scott Laverdure were in an automobile accident that took their lives at the age of 22. Nickolas and Scott were best friends, and their friendship grew while on the basketball courts together. Basketball and the desire to serve in the military cemented their friendship forever. Nick and Scott were a part of the Marine Corps Delayed Entry Program while attending Murdock High School in Winchendon MA, and Scott went on to serve in the Marines for four years upon graduation. Honoring these young men for many years to come is our goal and we hope to achieve this by giving back to student athletes. We decided that we wanted to create a scholarship fund to award to student athletes to help with the financial stress with continued education.

Jessica, we can't imagine how difficult the last 2 years have been for your family and the Laverdue family. It wad so much fun over the years watching Nick play basketball. He was a great teammate and a great player. I never had the privilege of meeting Scotty, but if he was friends with Nick, I know he was a great kid too.
