Our story
Flavia Vieira was a premedical student at Florida Atlantic University in Boca Raton, Florida.
Towards the end of high school, Flavia moved from her home country Brazil, to the United States to fulfill her educational dreams on a journey to becoming a Cardiologist.
Flavia was a senior just a few months out from her college graduation when she suddenly passed away on November 16th, 2021. She had planned to apply to medical school in the summer of 2022.
Flavia was extremely caring and personable, always willing to help others no matter the circumstances. She worked extremely hard in her premedical studies and often taught other students out of the kindness of her heart. Although English was not her first language, she excelled in every subject.
Our goal
In loving memory of Flavia Vieira. Flavia was a 21-year-old international student at Florida Atlantic University in Boca Raton, Florida pursuing a career in Medicine in the hopes of attending medical school to become a Cardiologist. Flavia moved to the United States to pursue this educational dream of hers. Unfortunately, Flavia's journey was cut short of the finish line as she passed away on November 16th, 2021, just months from her college Bachelor's graduation.
This fund will be directed toward international students seeking Undergraduate education in the United States.
This fund hopefully will fund $500 scholarships each year.
Entry for applicants will be based on an essay describing their "American Dream" and motivation for pursuing their education in the United States.
This fund aims to further the legacy of Flavia by aiding other international students in living the American Dream and pursuing their educational dreams in the United States.
