Our story

On November 1st, 2021, the Davis, CA community suddenly lost a dear friend, David (DK) Kim, due to complications from a heart condition. DK was a staple to the Davis community; he was a member of the Woodstock’s Pizza Davis family for nearly 20 years, and he was a UC Davis graduate with a degree in English, and a proud Sammie (Sigma Alpha Mu). DK poured his soul into UC Davis athletics, broadcasting and supporting many different sporting events such as football, basketball, softball, women’s lacrosse and more. In addition, he worked on a sports radio show at KDVS and co-hosted on KDRT. DK was one of a kind! He had such a passion for life and sports. Anyone who met DK can tell you how he just lit up any room he was in. He made everyone feel like they were family; even if it was your first time meeting him, you could feel the warmth he radiated. He affected so many people in such a positive way, and there are no words I can say that can convey how truly amazing he was.

Our goal

Friends and local downtown businesses of Davis want to honor the life of David (DK) Kim by creating a sports broadcasting scholarship in his honor. This fund will be a place for supporters to donate to help fund the scholarship.
